Philosophy

Early childhood is a time of curiosity, wonder, and exploration; it is the time when children gain awareness and understanding of both themselves and the world around them. I believe that children are precious and should be accepted, valued, and appreciated. Each child is unique, with their own set of needs, interests, and experiences. Children are active learners who learn best through play and real-life experiences within their environment. Play is essential for all aspects of children’s development.

Through exploring a child’s interests we can inspire a love for learning. I offer an emergent, play-based curriculum, which is open-ended; this approach allows me to be flexible when meeting the needs of children within my care. I believe that family is the first source of education for every child. Parents are experts on their children; therefore, I value their insights and participation in my program. When educators and families work together they create a positive environment which facilitates learning.

Mission Statement

To work in collaboration with parents and families to provide a quality program in a safe and caring environment which fosters physical, emotional, social, cognitive and moral development.
